A student’s POV: How can I benefit from the Erasmus+?

We all know and value Erasmus+. But why should I, a student, undertake such an experience? What are the things that actually benefit me in this journey?

Here are some answers I gave myself:

Learning to be independent:

As we all know the more we grow the more the responsibilities increase especially in our first year of University, the responsibilities will definitely increase if you choose to take a step forward and study abroad for a year, when we’re at a University in our own country, we can always go back to our native town and experience some of the home comforts that we probably miss while being in university, but this opportunity will not be there abroad. It’ll be harder since we’ll be alone to take care of our responsibilities. But we should see it as an opportunity not as a burden, since it’ll make us mature, independent and a better a version of ourselves and most importantly responsible.

Travelling:

Without any shadow of a doubt travelling is an essential part of the Erasmus + program, this is a very good news for the students since travel has mental, physical and emotional benefits for us. Let’s take a look at some health benefits that researchers found and verified scientifically:

-Lower risk of suffering a heart attack and depression

-Stress relief

-Enhances our creativity

-Happiness and satisfaction increase

-Openness to a new culture

Learning a new language:

Learning a new language could possibly be a new skill we can learn while being abroad. This is a skill from which we can benefit, for example: increase our employability, because as we all know nowadays the more languages we know, the higher the probability to get a good job is.
